ABSTRACT.
Intensively developing animal husbandry requires constant search and development of biologically active compounds aimed at the prevention and treatment of pathological conditions caused by polyresistant pathogenic and opportunistic strains. Along with the pronounced physiologically significant biological effect of individual essential elements, they can also exhibit a pronounced bactericidal effect against infectious agents. In our work, the potential of the combined action of zinc and iodine on Pseudomonas aeruginosa was evaluated as components for the formulation of ointment being developed for the treatment of wound and postoperative wounds in animals. The data obtained indicate the presence of pronounced synergism of elements, the combined action of which contributes to the enhancement of bactericidal effects.
