ABSTRACT.
The article examines the nature of vertical migration of strontium-90 in five types of soils of steppe
ecosystems of the Orenburg region. The results obtained made it possible to develop a methodology for assessing and
predicting the intensity of vertical migration of strontium-90 along the soil profile, and the physico-chemical characteristics of soils that have the greatest impact on the dynamics of distribution were determined.
