ABSTRACT. We consider the role of macro- and trace elements in maintaining health. There were described the consequences of deficiency and excess of certain essential chemical elements, as well as the principles of their correc-tion based on their antagonistic and synergistic interactions. The presented medicinal plants considered as potential sources of biotic elements for the correction of microelementoses. Their pharmacotherapeutic potential depends on amount of specific chemical elements in a particular plant and its correspondence to daily needs. Criteria and algo-rithms of evidence-based selection of plants and combination of herbal medicinal products, designed to correct deficiencies or excess of specific macro- and trace elements in the body, were developed. A ten-point scale of the pharmacotherapeutic potential on 13 essential chemical elements for the 40 medicinal plants of South Fergana was developed on the basis of the results of our experimental data on macro- and trace element composition and literature data of its daily needs.

KEYWORDS: vital elements, pharmacotherapeutic potential, correction of microelementoses, algorithm for prep-aration of medical teas.
