ABSTRACT.
The study of elemental status makes it possible to assess the content of bioelements in the body, to
draw conclusions about their adequate level of intake. For pregnant women, this is a prerequisite for preserving the
health of the mother and newborn. When assessing the actual intake of trace elements of copper, zinc and selenium in
the body of pregnant women, an imbalance expressed in the deficiency of zinc and selenium was established, and in
hair samples the level of these trace elements in women of the study group is lower compared to the control group.
